In the course of providing our services, either directly or indirectly, to research facilities operating in the EU, RMI Laboratories may be the recipient of some clinical trial patient information. This information may include some, or all, of the following; patient sex, patient disease, drug dosed to patient, dose of drug administered to patient, patient alphanumeric blinded identifier, and period drug was administered to patient. This data is used to identify patient samples (blood, plasma, urine or feces) that are analyzed by RMI Laboratories to conduct pharmaceutical research. None of this data is shared with any party not authorized by the research study protocols.
RMI Laboratories is responsible for the personal data it receives, under the Privacy Shield Framework, and complies with the Privacy Shield Principles for all onward transfers of personal data from the EU, including the onward transfer liability provisions. RMI Laboratories acknowledges that EU individuals have the right to access the personal information/data that we maintain about them. An EU individual who seeks access, or who seeks to correct, amend or delete inaccurate data, should direct his query to the email address or telephone number listed below.
If we ever were to engage in any onward transfers of your data with third parties for a purpose other than which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized, we would provide you with an opt-out choice to limit the use and disclosure of your personal data. In cases of onward transfer to third parties of data of EU individuals received pursuant to the EU-US Privacy Shield RMI Laboratories is potentially liable.
With respect to personal data received or transferred pursuant to the Privacy Shield Framework, RMI Laboratories is subject to the regulatory investigatory and enforcement powers of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, the Department of Transportation or another U.S. authorized statutory body. In certain situations, RMI Laboratories may be required to disclose an individual’s personal information in response to a lawful request by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.
RMI Laboratories has further committed to refer unresolved privacy complaints under the EU-US Privacy Shield Principles to BBB EU PRIVACY SHIELD, a non-profit alternative dispute resolution provider located in the United States and operated by the Council of Better Business Bureaus. Please note that, if your complaint is not resolved through these channels, under certain limited conditions, a binding arbitration option may be available before a Privacy Shield Panel.
